Great Barbecue Recipe #2: Ramen Cole Slaw

This recipe makes a lot for very little money and is a crowd pleaser! Feel free to experiment and add new ingredients. Almost anything goes well in this delicious coleslaw. Note there is no mayonnaise in this recipe so it is sure to delight even the pickiest of your friends.

What you’ll need:

2 packages ramen noodles, oriental or chicken flavor (I use one flavor packet in the dressing, but it’s up to you)
1 head of cabbage
5 green onions
A little butter

The Dressing:

1/2 cup sugar (or less to taste)
1/2 cup oil
1/3 cup vinegar (any kind you like, I used balsamic)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 packet ramen seasoning, you can also get creative and add spices here instead, curry is a pretty good addition.

Optional:
carrots
beets(roasted or sauteed till soft)
almonds(toasted until brown)
sesame seeds

How to make it:

Saute crushed ramen noodles in a little bit of butter, for about 30 sec-1 minute, the longer they cook the softer they will be

Roughly chop all vegetables, and toss in the dressing (all you have to do to make the dressing is combine the ingredients and mix, I’d use a fork)

Lastly add the ramen noodles and enjoy as is or refrigerate overnight for a well marinated version
